Cordless Fume Extractor #3Dprinting #3DThursday

NoPizzaTonite shared this project on Thingiverse!

There is a slim duct that travels up the inside of the right side assembly to hide the fan wires and still allow it to pivot. The fan I used has very slim wires and pushing 2 of the 3 wires needed to operate the fan wasn’t an issue. But you may want to take this into consideration if your fan uses thicker wires.

On/Off Switch – note the 3D model doesn’t have a hole for this since I used a large switch. You can drill and add your own size switch after printing.

The fan fits very snug inside the case so I didn’t bother with screwing it down – but the holes as there (3mm) if you want to

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
