Print In Place Joint Ball and Socket Hinge #3DThursday #3DPrinting

Shared by gzumwalt on YouTube:

A demonstration of a “print in place” parametric modeled seven joint ball and socket hinge.

Files and instructions are here:

https://www.instructables.com/id/Para…

The hinge design incorporates seven ball and socket hinge joints in order to support print in place 3D printing with no supports, thus the hinge is printed fully assembled.

I designed the Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD model for this hinge to provide the end user with the ability to alter the height, width, thickness, tolerance, hole sizes and joint diameter of the hinge. As these parameters are altered, Autodesk Fusion 360 immediately rebuilds the hinge model, ready for 3D printing.

Dice Tower Single Piece No Supports #3DPrinting #3DThursday

hirthwork shared this project on thingiverse!

This dice tower doesn’t require any supports and can be printed in a single piece.
75% scale is enough for most dices, although you can experience some issues with d20.
85% is enough for all dice sets
If you want to modify something, you can find SCAD sources here: https://github.com/hirthwork/dice-tower.scad

Please, keep in mind that this dice tower requires a lot of filament. 85% scale model with 10% infill requires 330g of ABS plastic without skirt and brim. It will be quite frustrating to found that you out of plastic after 48 hours of printing

I am using it mainly for meeting room system, so user can see if meeting room is free or
occupied.
So there is some wall mounting holes as well.

But it look cool, so with some powerbank it can be nice tablet as well:)
Fusion360 file included.

It is designed for Raspberry Pi 3A+(it is smaller than 3B+ but with same performance) with official touch 7″ 800×480 DSI LCD display.
You can edit it for your Raspberry version if you want.
