New Fusion 360 Layer by Layer – Print In Place Hinges by @ecken #3DPrinting #fusion360 #parametricmodeling

In this tutorial we’re taking a look at a 3D printed, print-in-place, hinge with user parameters. The features are scalable so the tolerances can be easily adjusted for manufacturing.

Baby Groot in Carbonite

Phillip Forbes shared on thingiverse:

Baby Groot in Carbonite

“I am Groot.”
“I know.”

I re-sized the box from the original to fit Groot and repaired a few things in the mesh so it would look and print better.

I got the best results by printing Groot at 45 degrees and adjusting my support angle to match. I also had to use a few supports for the control panels on the main box, mostly to keep the underside from sagging.

GRUMPY MONSTER

GRUMPY MONSTER

Self Portrait.
Found a photo of this guy on Pinterest and modelled him for a friends little ‘un.
I think he’s a character from Rayman so credit to the game designers for the original idea.
It is split to make painting and inserting the eye easy so make sure you put the eye in before gluing the two halves together.

3DP Mini Sax #3DPrinting #3DThursday

drcameron shared this project on Thingiverse!

This is heavily based on the Xaphoon, a version of a mini saxophone with the sound between a clarinet and a saxophone. All parts work well in PLA and PETG according to my tests. I haven’t tried ABS, but this should work just fine in that too. The video (https://youtu.be/deijf9jOcm4) demonstrates some of the 3DPminiSax’s capabilities and highlights my poor playing ability. Please don’t hold it against me. I designed the parts in TinkerCAD.

Ping Pong Popper #3DThursday #3DPrinting

Shared by gzumwalt on Thingiverse:

“Ping Pong Popper” (named by our nieces, nephews and grandkids) is an easy to make 3D printed toy for the young ones (and some old ones) in our family, and they all love it!

Just two 3D printed parts, a spring, some string and a ping pong ball saves the grandparents / aunt / uncle (my wife and I) around $25.00 USD for a trip to the local indoor pizza parlor / arcade in an attempt to win one of these. And if we do win one, well, they’re broken within an hour. Now I just print another (the green Ping Pong Popper is for my youngest grandson Gabe)!

As usual, I probably forgot a file or two or who knows what else, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to point them out as I do make mistakes in plenty.

Customized Wave Lamp, Base, and Cap #3DPrinting #3DThursday

Chaz493 shared this project on Thingiverse!

I modified the wave lamp base to be used with the LED strip i had handy and then created a cap to keep the lamp together. The LED strip can be purchased at Five Below (https://www.fivebelow.com/multicolor-led-light-strip.html). The strip will require a trim at the end in order to fit. I recommend printing the lamp section with glow in the dark PLA.
